The CCTV Inspection Services division brings a completely new technology to the GPRS family. This in-line crawler packs one heavy punch when it comes to inspections of pipes 6” – 96” in diameter. With its 360˚ pan & tilt and zero degree turning ability, it offers the maximum visibility and adaptability that is necessary for this line of work. It can travel 1,000LF from its insertion point and can track pipe grade, monitor temperature/pressure with its onboard sensors, and relays real time video back to a remote screen operated by our NASSCO certified technician. The crawler camera captures superior video resolution and can illuminate targets with bright LED lights or an auxiliary lamp for larger pipelines that requires more lighting. The video is carefully studied and recorded by our technician which can be downloaded by the customer via usb or media network.
The in-line crawler has a steerable 6-wheel drive giving our technician the agility to navigate past obstacles that may stop others. The crawler is able to switch out wheel types and has a detachable lift that allows it to handle any combination of pipe size (6”-96”), material, and condition. The overlapping 6-wheel drive makes it the best option for climbing over offsets and debris that we might find while exploring. Our crawler also has onboard lasers that can be used to measure defects and ovality within the pipe.
This Nationwide service comes with NASSCO certification and is available to anyone who requests it.
Dave Mulcahey is our lead project manager here at GPRS for our CCTV division. He is NASSCO certified and comes to us with over 6 years of experience using the in-line crawler. Dave is also a 3rd generation locator who began helping his father on locates at the young age of 12. After college, Dave started working at an underground locating manufacturing company where he was able to manufacture, use, and the sell the equipment. Soon Dave joined a company that was in charge of doing the actual locates and found his passion for the crawler systems. He then put his talents to use and started traveling the country to perform services. During this time, he enrolled into NASSCO certification classes to gain more knowledge on the sewer and storm line inspection world.
Dave is excited to join the GPRS family and is looking forward to providing the same great service throughout the country. This added value is tremendous for our customers and allows us to remain the Nation’s leader in subsurface investigations.
Our equipment is second to none. We utilize the latest GPS technology to pinpoint subsurface utilities, map their locations and develop detailed AutoCAD reports for our customers.
